It is more blessed to give than to receive -Acts 20:35
I started my working career at McDonald’s on Broadway across from Park Mall where I met my beautiful bride Barbara of 35 years.
Later, I spent 7 years working with my father at Snoopy’ s Flight school teaching hundreds of people to fly small airplanes. During these years I discovered my love for teaching as well as the benefits and heartaches of owning a small business. Barb and I seriously considered an airline career but decided that it was more important for me to be home at night to help raise our two boys, Ben and Ryan.
I started in the financial services industry in April of 1993 with Prudential Insurance. After 7 years working at Prudential, I moved to Paine Webber/UBS where I became a financial advisor and changed my focus to more securities related work. During this time at UBS, I recalled the advantages of owning a small business and decided in 2005 and open our Independent Registered Investment Advisory Firm.
Owning a small business can be truly challenging, yet immensely satisfying. Building and growing GR Financial Group has allowed me to work with truly incredible people and I appreciate that I can happily help clients every day.
Recently after 31 years in the financial services industry, I have had the pleasure and joy of slowing down and selling my part of the business to my long-term business partner Lynsey and my two boys Ben and Ryan, who have also been working with me for the past 15 years. I am truly excited to see how the three of them continue to improve GR financial everyday as they do things I was only able to dream about. I now get to work two days a week doing the best part of this business, meeting with my “friends”. However, now many of the conversations orientate around who has the best picture of their grandkids instead of when we will get to slow down. I am excited about this new season and look forward to whatever God calls me to do in the future.
